Purchasing and Licensing
Answers to frequently asked questions about purchasing and licensing our software.
- Are there monthly subscription fees with ComputerTime?
No. When you purchase ComputerTime, you pay a one-time fee that allows you to ComputerTime for as long as you like.
In addition, you get free updates as we improve the product and provide fixes.
In the future we'll provided major additional, optional features, which will be Add-Ons. These may be purchased separately, depending if you need those new features.
For example, you can purchase ComputerTime for a single computer. Then if you add additional computers to your home, you can purchase the Family Pack Add-On, and if you want to start limiting Internet time separately from computer time, you can purchase the Internet Add-on.
Once these Add-Ons are purchased, you are entitled to use them for years. ComputerTime and it's Add-Ons are purchased for your use, they are not subscription-based.
- Are there difference between the Free Trial and the purchased product?
The free trial contains all of the same features and works just like the fully purchased version.
There is only one download for ComputerTime. If you haven't purchased it and it hasn't been activated, it will operate for a limited time of fourteen days.
When you decide that you like the product and want to continue to use it, you'll purchase it from our website, and you'll receive a Product Key, which can be used to Activate ComputerTime and any Add-Ons that you have also purchased. When you enter the Product Key, you will no longer see the Trial window and you'll be able to enjoy ComputerTime without any restrictions.
If you're trial has expired you can purchase ComputerTime
You can even try it on multiple computers at the same time (especially when you're trying out the shared limits on your network). Just be sure to get the Family Pack when you purchase the software so that you can activate it on all of your computers.
- How can I activate ComputerTime without an Internet connection?
Send us your serial number (the number that looks like
SN-JJJJ-JJJJ-JJand can be found on the Admin Logon window, at the top in the title bar of that window).
You can send it via a support request and we will email you back an activation code that can be used in place of the Product Key to activate the software on that computer.
Keep in mind, the serial numbers are different on each computer, so if you need to activate on more than one computer that is not connected to the Internet, please be sure to send us the serial numbers from each one.
You may want to consider temporarily connecting those computers to the internet just so that you can activate them using your Product Key, and then disconnecting them. Running ComputerTime day-to-day does not require an Internet connection.
